Two Latinos down: Backlash, weak performance cost Tiffany Rios in group round

Heart doesn't always amount to talent. And as the 7 Latinos and their singing hopefuls came to realize Wednesday night, when you're a performer, you've got to be on every night -- no exceptions.
The group performance round proved to be a painful night for many of the hopefuls, as well as for the judges. Nothing short of uninspired is the best way to describe what unfolded when the groups just couldn't jibe.
And of the seven, bold and brash Jersey girl Tiffany Rios proved her persona was bigger than her ability, and though she tried fighting the vote, she was a no-go.
It goes to show that you can be arrogant, but you've got to be humble, because you just might end up having to work with those you've insulted.
And last week's declaration that she was going to show the judges what they hadn't seen all night -- talent -- only served to hurt her Wednesday. No ensemble wanted her in the group round. She finally had to resort to stealing Jessica Yantz from The Sugarmamas, just to form a duo. Yantz was also booted after their performance.
Another Latino disappointment within the seven was Aaron Gutierrez, the other silky-pitched half of the brothers Gutierrez.
As the competition gets more cutthroat, it's clear that if you're not one of the best on Idol, you're just not enough to make it past the grueling whittling process to the final 12. So, a word moving forward for the remaining contestants: keep it on; keep it real; and show humility. Your talent might take you beyond the shower, but it won't get you past yourselves.
Do you agree with the judges' decision to toss Tiffany, Aaron and Julie after their group auditions?
