Amazing, these young men cannot afford a championship ring, but I would surmise that almost all of them, when not in uniform, are wearing shoes that cost $200, pants that cost well over $100, gold chains, and other things that cost one heck of a lot more than a ring. Where do they get the money for those items, but cannot afford to pay for a championship ring? Poor my rear end. I know poor.

BS, how do you know this? I just see kids having fun and are excited about winning the championship. Grow up. Not everyone who is poor is like that. If they have nice clothes to wear, have you ever heard of layaway? I use it alot. It comes in handy.

BS, apparently you have never been to San Fernando. It is one of the poorest areas in Los Angeles. There is a pervasive gang problem and the houses all have bars over the windows. For these kids to NOT be in a gang and to be doing something constructive is pretty great. They probably had to sell a lot of chocolate bars to pay for their uniforms and equipment. Until you know what you are talking about, STFU.

Yes,Let's make sure they pay their child support, or sell the ring and pay the baby mamma. a big kiss for enabling these young men to become dependent on anyone else to provide for them.

To BS (appropriate name): You know, someone always wants to come along and pee on everyone's parade. Obviously you have no personal knowledge of whether or not ONE of these kids has $200 sneakers. You're just pulling this out of your butt. You just like to mouth off about things you have no knowledge of. And secondly, what if they did have $200 shoes? This is still a great gesture and encourages the best part of these kids... working hard for something, teamwork and sticking with a job until you win.... these are great lessons for these kids. And then to be recognized and rewarded for it...goes a long way towards building better Americans. Let's applaud that!
