According to the Los Angeles Times, George Lopez did quite the good deed this week. On June 4, the San Fernando (Calif.) High baseball team won the Los Angeles City Section Division I title. Not only their triumph was a big deal because they earned their title and a championship ring. It also was their first title since 1991, claiming their victory 8-6 over Chatsworth at Dodger Stadium.

Still, there was an important issue for these students, who mostly come from lower-income homes in this suburban Los Angeles school: they couldn't afford to pay for those championship rings.

And so, the comedian and talk-show host heard about their ordeal, and decided to step forward and pay for everyone's rings.

"It's unbelievable, because the kids couldn't afford it", said San Fernando coach Armando Gomez to the Times.
