While on vacation, Shakira and Gerard Piqué got quite a scare after a white-water rafting accident. Luckily, there were no injuries, just a few bumps and scrapes, but they took the scare back home with them, especially the singer, who is said to have caused the accident.
At first glance, everything looked like it was going smoothly, with the group paddling as Piqué was out front. But it only took one misstep by the singer, who was paddling in the wrong direction while everyone else paddled correctly, for everyone to land in the water quickly.

No one individual paddling makes any difference, they dumped because they were not experienced enough, period. To blame Shakira is bullshit.

I thought the same thing. How could 1 person paddling in the wrong direction cause them to flip? Looked like pretty rough rapids, anything could have happened.

Sonny, ever been rafting on a paddle boat? One person can definitely put a boat in trouble. That's why they go through all those exercises when the boat first launches. We've actually had to stop above a major rapid and have some dyslectic client walk around the rapid and pick them up down stream. No tip from those clowns but at least the rest of the boat isn't swimming.

Yeah, I call BS too. I watched it a few times and I did not see anything to show anyone was paddling the "wrong" way...and unless she is superwoman I don't see how she could steer that boat right in to that crest against everyone else's efforts....what about the guy who is SUPPOSED to be steering? Looks almost like he aimed right at it, lol.

get a new boyfriend.. lol. as for it being her fault?, BS. it happens in rafting. i guided river tours for several years on 3 different rivers and part of the fun is when you get dumped. it usually is (especially in this case) a forgiving river after a rapid so all you really get is wet if you have the right life jacket on. We used to dump the passengers on a regular basis just so they would have more to talk about back at camp when they got back from the day.
