Commando Miss Colombia causes flap for going nude (PHOTOS)
With just days before
Miss Universe 2011 is crowned, the 89 beauties are already more than set up in Sao Paulo, Brazil -- just like us, where we'll offer you all the exclusive details. And just when we thought everything appeared under control, we've got our first Miss 'Scandalous.' Unfortunately, she is a Latina candidate: Miss Colombia,
Catalina Robayo.
The 22-year-old beauty has apparently gotten herself into a scandalous situation after being caught in no underwear on more than one occasion at official events. We got to the
bottom of the story.
According to a
Fox News report, we've learned that Catalina has on numerous occasions worn the smallest of miniskirts, leaving little to the imagination. The only problem is that she "forgets" to wear underwear.
"[Miss] Colombia had to be told that it was absolutely necessary to wear underwear, and that what she was doing was completely inappropriate," the
Fox News source said. "Many people are very upset and uncomfortable with her after photos have emerged in several media outlets where you can see everything."
Fox spoke to Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, who said she was flabbergasted to hear the news about Miss Robayo from her team.
"There were several ladies wearing very short dresses, which is a little disconcerting, but when I saw the picture on the front page of a Colombian newspaper, where you could tell she wasn't wearing underwear, I was very, I mean very surprised," Shugart said.
"Our supervisors spoke to all the participants on the appropriate dress code, and one of our public relations representatives spoke to Robayo, who apparently said that she was wearing underwear. Either way, it's caused quite a scandal here the last few days."
So did she go overboard attending official pageant events sans underwear?
In this image, you see Miss Colombia facing the camera with her pageantmates as she strategically covers herself with a purse:
There's also news of a scandal of another kind, a minor one, after pageant officials returned the bottoms of contestants' bikinis to sponsor Brazil Catalina Swimwear, because they say the bikini bottoms are too tiny for broadcast television. Brazilian bikini designer? Really? What did they expect?
E! Online also contacted Miss Universe representatives, who confirmed that the
Fox News report about Robayo was true, but they said they did not want to offer further comment. They also published an image of Robayo showing her goods in a miniskirt, with a censor bar covering her not-so-private area, of course.
AOL Latino will continue to investigate and see what Miss Scandalous, Catalina Robayo, has to say for herself.
Meanwhile, we'd like your thoughts.
Is this truly a big deal?

It's very simple! Implement a dress code, for example...dresses, skirts no more than say 6 inches above the knees. Underwear should be mandatory, after all they are not competing for a role in a Porn Movie. If Contestants do not abide, throw their behinds out of the competition. End of story!

It's hypocrisy. The girls walk around half naked, with three triangles attached to their bodies, and now everyone's making a major moral issue of the-already-small-panties-being-too-small.

How sad that she has been allowed to continue in the contest. She absolutely DOESN"T represent our universe - only the universe of sluts. That is not what most of us want to see represented.

It's hypocrisy. I do not see or understand what moral bases or rules are used. Not wearing underwear has become a common dressing rule, so what is the point? A woman is more than an object of beauty and evaluation. Is a human of values,an achievements. Self motivated and independent. She add "humanity" to earth. Start to use different parameters;...

Most of the people are watching to see the Swim Suit and Gown Feature and watch young Ladies with great Bodies Strut their Stuff. Qithout the Skin and the curves of their Body it would not be a BEAUTY CONTEST?. In 1968 in Los Angeles women wore less, Fish Net Tops no Bras, Daisy Duke Shorts and no underwear, has the public became so prudish that we're going backwards? If she wants to flash the World GOOD FOR HER. All you old Foggies and old Farts who have gotten too old for snjoying the Body because you Females have fallen way South and you Males where everything has dried up ftom lack of use? Get your heads out of the Sand stop complaining and being Jealous because ypu CAN NOT DO THE SAME and Enjoy whatever Life you have left.
